2nd ASTRONOMY FESTIVAL - Press Release of the Astronomy &amp\; Space Socie
 ty (Salamina &amp\; Piraeus branch)\nDear Friends of the Astronomy &amp\;
Space Society (Salamina &amp\; Piraeus Branch)\, we invite you to particip
ate in the cultural event entitled ΄΄Astronomy and Art ΄΄ which is part of
the 2nd Astronomy Festival that will take place in Salamina on July 13 &a
mp\; 14\, 2024. Details and time of submission of assignments are indicate
d in the attached Press Release.\nPress release\nThe Salamis &amp\; Piraeu
s Branch of the Astronomy &amp\; Space Society is organizing a literary ev
ening of poetry and prose readings on Sunday 14.07.24 in the D. Bogris roo
m at the Salamis Town Hall (18.00-22.00) as part of the Astronomy Festival
.\nAuthors are invited to compose up to three unpublished texts:• 3 prose
 texts (500 words each)• or 3 short poems (single page A4\, Aria\, 14 font)
 • and short CV of up to 100 words• with a related theme of the works that
 draws from stars\, starry sky\, moons\, galaxies\, black holes\, etc.• all
styles are allowed: structured realism\, hyperrealism\, romanticism\, exp
 ressionism\, impressionism\, symbolism\, etc.The rationale of the event is
to give incentives to creators (young and established) for intellectual p
roduction contributing to the artistic elevation of the island.A desirable
goal is also the creative osmosis and acquaintance of the writers of Sala
mis with the writers of Greece and abroad in the philosophical footsteps o
f Euripides and the poet Angelos Sikelianos. Astronomy first passed from A
rt to Philosophy and Religion to become the Mother of Sciences. We wish to
highlight this timeless relationship between Astronomy and Art in our Cul
tural event.\nThe texts will be read by the authors themselves in alphabet
ical order. For authors unable to make a physical presence for life\, thei
r works will be read in honor of the worthy members of the Annex.&nbsp\;\n
In the future\, there is the possibility of producing a digital or printed
commemorative collective volume\, in which case the texts should be made
available specifically for the event and for two years. The copyright of w
orks always belongs to their creators.Digital certificates of participatio
n will be given.Visual artist friends will be able to support the event wi
th color by bringing a painting with their own easel strictly by appointme
nt (sending photos of the works and a mini-biography up to 100 words).\nIn
the foyer of the hall\, there will be a Book Exhibition of participating
and non-authors in the context of highlighting their intellectual work.\nT
he gathering\, editing of the participation works will be done by the Pres
ident of the Branch (for the literary ones) and by Mr. Giorgos Leni (for t
he visual ones) in the sending emails with a strictly last day deadline of
  Wednesday 10.07.24 at midnight
